Iran animation qualifies among top 10 in Aurstria filmfest

Iran animation piece ‘Pet Man’ is nominated among the 10 qualifiers for the competition section of the 16th edition of international Innsbruck Nature Film Festival.

Directed by Marzieh Abrar Paydar, the flick is to go on the silver screen as one of the picks.

‘Pet Man’ chronicles the story of an animal seller who has this terrifying nightmare of being captive in a cage, making a series of efforts to escape, with failures as he comes across an obstacle every time.

Movies from Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Iran, Austria and Croatia will compete in the final round.

‘Pet Man’ had previously bagged the best animated film award at the third NEZ International Film Festival in India and is also among the nominations in the 10th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival slated for October 23-29, 2017. Being among the top 15 short animations by Britain’s Canterbury Festival, the movie was also screened at Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (SICAF) in July 2017.

The 16th edition of the international Innsbruck Nature Film Festival is slated to be held October 10-13 in Austria.
